Black Moretta Mask

A Touch of Venetian History

The Moretta is a historic Venetian mask that became especially associated with women in Venice. Traditional versions were known for their plain, dark appearance and were originally held in place by a small button that the wearer gripped between the teeth.

Because of this, the wearer could not speak while wearing the mask, which added to its mysterious character.

This modern version keeps the distinctive black, minimal look of the traditional Moretta while using satin ribbon ties for a more practical way of wearing it.
